VISITING THE U.S.
We arrived Nov. 8, and we’ll be in the U.S. until January 17, 2009. Until then, we’ll be visiting family and friends, and enjoying the time the Lord is giving us here resting and relaxing in His presence. And as a family, we are continuing to spend time in the presence of the Lord and His word, crying out for a greater experience of God’s glory and kingdom in our lives, and praying for the Lord’s work that is continuing in Lichinga.
Provision Of Peace In His Presence
When we left Lichinga, we didn’t have enough money to pay for the total fare back to the U.S. (not without using money needed for other things), but the word of the Lord is a promise of His provision. When you receive a ‘call of God’ provision is made as you go (it doesn’t always come at once). A few days before we left Lichinga we received an email with a $200 pledge. When we flew to Maputo, Mozambique we purchased bus tickets to travel to South Africa. In Maputo, a couple whom we did not know and that knew nothing about the needs of our journey, came to us saying the Lord told them to give $200 cash into our ministry. This helped pay for fare and food. Then, another person (whom we never met) blessed us with a one night hotel and breakfast in Johannesburg, South Africa. In the Johannesburg airport we had to wait about 11 hours for our flight. We got free dinners (because the plane was delayed) and someone gave each of our children free beverages. We also slept on the couches in one of the restaurants (free beds, hallelujah!!). When we arrived in the U.S. and checked our email, we found that we were blessed with news of more money. We thank God for His provision, but we believe it’s not just about our material needs being met. There’s a peace of God that causes an extraordinary increase in our daily relationship with Jesus. Although we pray for our needs, we are not consumed or distracted by them. Instead we know God is faithful, and the peace of God enables us to rest in His presence and go on experiencing the greatness of who He is (instead of focusing on how and when He will provide for us). So, we steadfastly pursue His call on our lives as we run forward in the joyful expectation of what He promised to supply as we do His work.
Another Muslim Comes To Christ
As you know from a previous blog, the coaches of the hockey (floorball) team have been helping us rebuild our fence after most of it was purposely burned down. The Sunday before we left Lichinga for the U.S., the coaches wanted to come to our church. One of the two Muslim coaches gave his life to Jesus. The other Muslim coach sat silently with his head down (one could see the Lord working on his heart). He didn’t surrender his life to Jesus, but he did agree for prayer to have an encounter with the living God that would leave no doubt in his heart to who Jesus really is.
Please continue to pray for us and for our beloved city of Lichinga, Mozambique while we are here. Join with us as we cry out for more of Jesus! Oh, how we are in need of more of you, Lord!
We love you,
Tyren and Tiffany Haynes

The Provision Of His Presence
It seemed like good sense to cancel church for two weeks since I was the only one left to facilitate things, and Tiffany opted to stay at the land to “guard” it during church services. (Someone always has to be present to watch over the children’s center property which is up the hill from where the church is). But, the Lord told me not to “uproot” the church. I knew the Lord was telling me that the church, His people, is His work and it doesn’t originate in the efforts or abilities of any one individual. If I canceled church, I would have given people the wrong view of church and what their relationship with God is about. Salvation is of the Lord.

Seeing Jesus In the Midst of Discouragement

Update On Ministry Projects
At times people have inquired about how they can help, and also have encouraged us to let people know how they can be a blessing. In the beginning of the year, we sent a blog with a list of the main projects and other ministry opportunities to let people know the primary areas they can support us in. We are resending an updated list, which includes the praise report for the things the Lord allowed us to accomplish thus far.The Lord has a lot of work for us to do in the city of Lichinga and its surrounding villages, and we believe we’ll be here for several years until the Lord says our work is done. Projects that we mentioned are the result of prayer, and are things that are specific to enable us to live here and be effective in fulfilling God’s call on our lives to pursue the harvest, and prepare and release harvesters here in Lichinga.
HOUSE FOR GOD’S PLEASURE
Some people thought it was impossible, but the Lord built our house in 4 months and we moved into it in September. We’re going to complete the remaining inside work (painting, inside doors, kitchen table, etc.) when we return from the U.S.
TRUCK FOR MINISTRY
We are praying for a twin cab 4x4 truck. Due to the rainy season, mud, and the poor condition of the dirt roads where we live, a 4x4 truck with room to carry several passengers inside is necessary. We need a truck to evangelize in the city and villages. It’s especially necessary as we’ve been desiring the freedom to go places and minister as a family. Quality used/new trucks (mainly Toyota/Nissan/Ford) can be purchased in Mozambique.
BORE-HOLE (Well)
This past year, the cheapest machine drilled wells (bore holes) were about $6000 U.S. which includes a manual hand pump. In Lichinga (which is in the mountains), the machine drilled wells must be about 40-50 meters to give clean water that’s available year round even in the dry season (when it doesn’t rain for about 4-6 months). Our current water supply, a hand dug well, frequently runs out and is dirty. We’d like a bore-hole for our house and gardening. Everyone at the center agrees that the only option is to have more than one bore-hole especially since our center will have to have enough water to support 24 orphans, flower and vegetable gardens, etc.
DREAMER’S VISION PROJECTS
(We can explain how the Lord gave us this name and song at some other time). As a part of preaching to the lost and drawing people back to their first-love, we encourage the people of God to enter into their God-given destinies. We spiritually prepare the way, and when possible practically equip believers to help them be to be released into the call of God for their lives. Some good examples of this are the bicycles that a few of you supplied to Gazani and Foster (local missionaries who are very active in evangelism), and the Bibles we continue to purchase in the local language for believers that are eager to learn about the Lord, micro-enterprise projects and other small projects.
Please continue to pray for us and the great work that the Lord has set before us. We thank God for all of your continued support and willingness to see His glory and kingdom transform lives in Lichinga, Mozambique. We are looking forward to coming to the U.S. next month; The Lord is faithful, and will always provide the way.
For donations that can’t be sent through our church in the U.S., direct overseas donations (US dollars) can be transferred to our ministry account here in Lichinga (donations sent directly to this acct are not tax deductible). You will need the following information to complete the transfer. Please send us an email (or give us a call!) if you choose this option, so we can confirm the transaction. Thank you!Acct #: 00800001444320410180Swift Code: CGDIMZMA

We Moved Into Our New House

The Beginning Of New Things At Our Center
The spiritual inauguration of the children’s center, Village of Joy, was wonderful. Both Rolland and Heidi Baker came to anoint the first orphan girls house and dedicate it to the Lord (see photo). Pastor Mario, a local Pastor in Beira who is a spiritual covering for the center as well, also spent the weekend with us. We spent time worshipping the Lord, praying for one another, and being greatly encouraged and strengthened by the many prophetic words that were given this weekend. Many people were saved during the outreaches on Friday and Saturday nights in the city and in Sambula village. Follow-up is being done in the village. In Sambula, a crazy woman was delivered and her family said later that she was eating and acting normally.

Building Our House Is Pure Ministry
First, exciting news: Everyone is waiting for the government to finish its process of officially approving our center as an orphanage. But in the meantime, everyone is planning for the “spiritual inauguration” of the children’s center this Saturday, August 30. Heidi Baker is coming to Lichinga to bless the center, as well as several other people. On Friday night we’ll have an outreach in a village and on Saturday night we’ll have one in Iris’ church in the city. This weekend we’ll celebrate as a praise offering to the Lord for all that He is accomplishing at the center. Our focus is on Him alone, and we cry out for His Holy presence to be made manifest in great ways at our center.

House For God’s Pleasure
All the workers are excited. Last week we laid the floor within the house and the veranda in the back. We have to finish the pipes for the septic tank, some cement plastering around the roof, and the floor and bars for the front veranda. Then, I’ll have to work on putting in the windows and the outside doors. Afterwards, we’ll connect the toilet and sinks. We don’t have running water now and we won’t have it at our new house until we can get a bore hole (machine dug well). But, at least we’ll be able to take indoor bucket baths, flush the toilet using a bucket of water, and wash dirty dishes in a sink instead of a big plastic bowl (basin) that we use now.
Where did the name “House for God’s Pleasure” come from? It’s the name the Lord gave us. It wasn’t a “nice name for a house project”. The name is about the testimony the Lord wanted to establish in our lives and through our ministry. He wants to build our lives, which are His houses, for His pleasure. His pleasure is that He wants to experience the people He created in Christ Jesus just like we love to experience the relationships we have with each other. Often, we don’t give Him that opportunity because we are always asking Him to tell us what to do, when, how and if to do it. We don’t trust Him to purify our hearts so that His church can truly be His bride who is likeminded in creativity, desire, passion and will. God made us for Himself. He wants us to use the wisdom, creativity, ideas and dreams that are inside of us. He wants to have the pleasure of being loved, of having us share our dreams with Him, of coming up with plans and holy and outrageous ideas. He’s the one that made us wonderfully and fearfully. Now, we’re restored back to God through Christ. Let Him experience the awesomeness He put inside of us, and His “goodness” (Genesis 1:27, 31; Galatians 5:22) that is now in our new nature and laid up in purified hearts.
God longs for a pure relationship, not built on the things of this life. He wants to relate to His creation solely on the basis of who He is and who He made us to be. This is love. He doesn’t want a people with a passion regulated by the things of this life. A regulated, self-passionate people, who’s faith and desire for Him go (who will only relate and walk with Him) as far as their money will allow, or their own understandings or worldly resources will allow.

The Lord didn’t tell me exactly what to build. He wanted me to dream. He tested me several times to see if I would share with Him the true plans of the house with Him. He refined some of my ideas, and shared His own with me. When I thought about a nice looking house that didn’t truly represent His work, He let me know. I would turn my face back to Him and again could think with a pure heart. Then, the things I imagined were things He enjoyed using to testify of His pleasure. We drew up the plans of the house before we even knew how much we had to build. Twice He showed me a vision of part of the house. But, the room of lights with its triple-paneled huge windows, He let me plan out. The back veranda was made just for the children to play on. The front veranda was added just for Tiffany to enjoy herself during the day. The Lord liked the idea. The Lord has and will continue to honor what He made us to be. He continues to bless the work we do for His glory. The real work is that His testimony is being revealed in the lives of His servants, and His own hands are building dwelling places (houses of His pleasure) in the lives of us and the workers.
I hope you understand a little bit more that building this house is purely ministry for us. We are not trying to build a house to be a little more comfortable as a family. We thank Jesus for what this house means to us. In building, the Lord is establishing His testimony that will help people see Him more clearly, and become more of the indwelling place for God in the Spirit (people of His presence) that we are meant to be. Hearts are being harvested for His presence.

Building our House For God's Pleasure
Construction on our house is going well. For the next few weeks, I’ll be spending a lot of time working on our house. The roof is on! It’s purely a work of God. Jesus helped me put it on myself, and use tar to fix broken chapas and seal the cracks in the chapas (cement roofing). The front roof of the house is cement and the rear is tin roofing. In about three more weeks, the house should be finished, and we should be able to move in. The Lord has been so faithful in opening our eyes and in not letting construction issues blind or distract us from purely seeing Him as He is. He is so wonderful! Building this house is a testimony about who He is and not about what is being accomplished in the physical building of the house. We aim to see God for who He is, and allow Him to be all that He is in our lives.
For those of you who know my wife, Tiffany, you know just how excited she is about moving into our own house.
Brief Evangelism Testimony
Our ministry team was excited to hear that two of the people that we prayed for in Utimuile Village were healed. One older lady’s back was healed and she was off working in the gardens again. The Lord healed another woman’s teeth that had been hurting for months. Both women also had received Jesus while we were ministering to them in the village.

Our Daily Simple Life Of Living By Faith
We live a simple life here in Lichinga. We draw all our water for cooking, bathing and drinking from a well. We cook using a 2 burner gas stovetop. For an oven, we can manage to cook some things in a hole in the ground using charcoals. When we move into our new house we will be getting an indoor oven. We mainly eat vegetables and rice or cema (corn flour cooked until it’s a very, very thick porridge- sort of like grits in America). We also eat small fish like minnows (in America we’d only use it as fish bait). We also help support a local woman by paying her to wash our clothes by hand twice a week.Tiffany homeschools our children, Amerel (3rd grade) and Isaiah (K5), using the Abeka curriculum based in Pensacola, Florida. Amerel is 7 years old and Isaiah is 4 years old.
I told this non-christian man that I was building a house for the pleasure of God and the glory of Jesus Christ, and I was willing to buy whatever he had (even the broken ones for a discounted price). (I could see the Holy Spirit ministering to him). After he paused, he called a man to go with me and count all the chapas. There were only 32 and more than half of those were broken and split. But there were about 10 good ones after all. For our house we need about 45 more. Today, we are in the process of trying to fix the broken ones. By next week, I should be able to show you pictures of the house with at least some chapas on it.Tuesday, July 29, 2008

Pressing In For More of Him
For some reason, the last few blogs we created in July are missing from our blog site. You should have received emails with our latest new though. We’ve updated our blog with the new posting below, and will try to re-post the deleted ones as soon as possible.A lot has been going on with house construction and our builders so we weren’t able to update the blog last week. Here’s an update on house construction and the new Saturday meetings in the city.
House Construction
House construction is going well (with much prayer) and we pray that we’ll be able to move in during August. We had to postpone putting on the roof but are continuing with other areas. Please pray that everything needed for the house will be supplied. On the other hand, the presence of the Lord is increasing during our lunch time worship and teaching, and everyone is being impacted with a greater hunger and thirst for the Lord, and living in holiness. One of the workers, James, who is 22 can neither read nor write. One afternoon, Jesus touched his heart and he asked me to give him scriptures so his wife can read the Bible to Him (this was a BIG step for James. Hallelujah!). We are praying that either his wife or someone else can teach him to read and write.

Saturday Meetings In The City
Two Saturdays ago we started our Saturday evening meetings in the city. If you remember, this was planned to start about 3 to 4 months ago but was postponed due to not having a vehicle to transport the ministry team. Now, most people will walk and ride bikes to the city church. Instead of meeting in the evening, the event starts and ends in the afternoon while it is still light.
While we were meeting in the church, a man came in and requested that someone from the church come quickly. Up the street from the church, a 22 year old man named Arlindo had been standing still in the road for some time without moving. According to some people in the village, it had been from anywhere between 1.5 to 3 hours. His eyes were open, but I don’t remember them blinking at all. He didn’t move, didn’t respond to touching or questions, and he didn’t talk. His body was very stiff (rigid). This was obviously the effect of evil spirits. His mother requested that we pray for him in the church. His whole body remained stiff while he was carried to the church. While praying for the man and worshipping the Lord, his whole body became limp and he appeared to be dead. His eyes closed and for a few minutes a few of us couldn’t feel his pulse in his wrist or his neck. (Personally, I believe he was alive but that he only appeared as dead). The whole situation reminded me of the boy in Mark 9:18,20 and 26. Later some men in o
ur ministry team took turns carrying him to his house that was about a 20 minute walk away. When we arrived at the house, the mother gave her life to Jesus. Two days later we received a message from the mom. For the first time in about a year, the man ate food and took a bath by himself. She said that he was starting to act like a normal person again. We continue to pray for Arlindo though because he doesn’t talk and according to his family, he hasn’t received Jesus as his Savior. A few days later, Victor and I ministered to him at his house, but he didn’t talk or respond to anything we said or did.May the Lord continue to bless you all! For some time, we’ve been feeling that the Lord has given us a double, open door to come and abide in His presence. We know we are always welcome, but there seems to a special beckoning from the Lord that is releasing our hearts from all distractions. It’s as though He’s pursing us in relentless love and passion to ensure we don’t miss this opportunity to know Him more than we’ve ever imagined. Abiding in Him all day is worth everything.
In love with Jesus,
Tyren and Tiffany Haynes

The Fresh (New) Works Of The Lord
When Victor and I went to the city to check on the cement bricks for my house, we had an opportunity to share the gospel with the owner of the business. Suddenly he had an emergency, and had to leave quickly. I was going to leave because I didn't want to preach at the business without the owner's consent (but the Holy Spirit was nudging me to share the gospel). Then the Holy Spirit said to me, 'Don't cheat Me'. I knew what that meant. So, we preached to all the workers. One, a muslim, walked away, but the other 6 gave their lives to Jesus. Another started laughing while he and others were praying to commit their lives to Jesus. We rebuked him, and told him that if he doesn’t repent of the wickedness in his heart, he’ll have no part in heaven or the kingdom. One of the men that just got saved looked at him and said, “He has an evil spirit, he didn’t mean what he prayed. He doesn't want to receive Jesus”. Then, we worshiped right there and ministered to the new believers. After, we found out that the workers stopped working that day because they hadn’t gotten paid in a while. Victor and I took the opportunity to teach them about being servants of God (and about loving one another). We worked with one of the other workers to do their job of shoveling all of the sand out of the sand truck. The sand is used to make the cement blocks. (At our center things work differently. The workers keep working when the finances aren’t there on paydays and even many days after. The workers at our center are Christians, with hearts for the Lord and His work, so they continue to work as “volunteers in the day of His power”. It’s a whole different mindset and heart attitude but the workers at our center are true servants of God).
I enjoyed watching the rest of the team of locals such as Foster, Victor and Fiel minister to people at their homes. The Lord is definitely spreading a passion for His presence in our hearts, and it’s being seen as we minister out of a love for Jesus. Just a note: As a team, we focus on the presence of the Lord and drawing people’s hearts to their First Love. But, in having His heart we contend to see His will done in signs, wonders, healings and miracles.

Bring Forth The Gospel With Joy
When you have the joy of the Lord, “FUN” is a big part of evangelism. Friday, evangelism in Asumani was fun. We know Jesus wants us to walk in the joy He is bringing to the villages. Our team danced before the Lord in worship forgetting about where we were (we focused on who we were with –Jesus). Gazani preached while Victor translated into the local Jao language. At the end, we spent time just talking to people. Of course, I couldn’t speak Jao to the children, but the Holy Spirit helped me communicate His heart to them. Suddenly a strong desire to pray for the children burst forth in my heart. I hugged on them and prayed for them. I called over another missionary and just said, “pray, the Lord is moving.” Before I could say anything else, she began to pray the same thing that was in my heart, that the fire of God would overtake them. After praying, all I could do was worship in a song I learned in Jao which says “You are worthy Jesus, You gave me my life”. Again, the presence of the Lord was there captivating the children’s hearts, as some joined in worshipping the Lord. Suddenly I began shouting, “Hallelujah!”, and they all spontaneously praised God, shouting and lifting their hands with me.
Yesterday, Victor and I went to the city to spend time with Jesus and to see what He wanted to do. The fun continued in the city. For the first time that we entered the market, we saw a group of Christian ladies who sell produce lined up outside. Before we realized what was happening, we were encouraging them to evangelize in the power of the Spirit. We shouted Hallelujah and lifted our hands praising God right there in the central market. The Lord sparked something in them, and they kept thanking us for preaching to them. Then, Victor led two men to the Lord. It is great seeing Victor, my translator and preaching buddy, grow in his gifting. He sees people in the market, stops to tell them about Jesus and they get saved. At first, one of the men who had been hearing us preach at other times was trying to be very quiet as he gave his life to Jesus. “If you want Jesus you can’t be ashamed,” I told him, speaking loudly. “No, no,” he said, “I want Jesus.” “Good!” I shouted, “You just gave your life to Jesus! I love Jesus and I’m not afraid to let people know it right here in the market.” Right then, I just “broke out” shouting and praising God on the street at the side gate of the market. Shame and caring about what others think is a big issue and hindrance here. When people give their lives to Jesus, they have to be willing to stand for Him right there no matter who is around.

Evangelism and The Presence of the Lord
There’s nothing more beautiful than being in the presence of the Lord, and living an upright life before Him. For some reason, the Lord wanted me to spend time relaxing in His presence this week. So, I canceled all of my normal ministry activities Monday – Thursday of this week. Whatever the Lord wants is always worth making the priority and doing.
The Lord did wonderful things in Utimuile Village last Friday. All of us on the ministry team enjoyed seeing more people receive Jesus. I don’t know yet what the Lord is speaking by removing headaches, but the Holy Spirit has been removing them from people who ask for prayer. One lady that just received Jesus a few minutes before had a backache. Her back ache didn’t stop while we prayed for her, but we were all surprised at her faith when in boldness she said she believed she would get better. During this time, the Lord revealed more of Himself to me, even in the fact that shortly before the team departed, I was asked to teach the new believers on the Kingdom of God to help them understand the new life they have in Christ (our base leader Peter was tired after returning from a long journey).

When we stopped worshiping, for some reason most of them left the area for home. It was weird, but definitely of the Lord! A few little ones stayed and accepted Jesus. One little girl looked like she was about 2 or 3 years old. She had a bold look in her eyes as she was literally the loudest one praying to receive Christ. Another little girl that I’d been eyeing in the village for some time was also there, and she received Jesus, too. We also were able to spend time teaching Chasi, a young girl from our church that accompanied us to evangelize, about the presence of the Lord, the releasing of the anointing, and the importance of always doing what the Holy Spirit wants us to do.Thursday, June 19, 2008
Harvesters Are Needed For The Harvest
We had a beautiful time in Asumani village last
The city is another big harvest field. I’ve been challenged by the people that come and ask for food, both children and adults. It’s one thing to spot out the hungry and make a decision to feed them, and it’s another thing when they spot you out and ask you to feed them. Tito, a man who obviously had too much to drink that morning (and who smoked) called me over and asked for food. I believed he was hungry so I bought him food. He then told his friend, “These people go to the church, too”. It turned out that Tito went to a Catholic church and truly believed in Jesus Christ. Tito wants to be used by Jesus in great ways, but at that moment he wasn’t ready to let go of his alcohol. While Victor and I were ministering to him, another man who also had too much to drink stopped to listen to us preach about Jesus. That man made a decision to surrender his life to the Lord! He also asked Jesus to deliver him from smoking and drinking. All this occurred right in front of the counter of the bread shop. We then sincerely apologized to the store owner if we had interrupted or disturbed his business in any way. He actually seemed to enjoy the fact that we were ministering to people, and wasn’t bothered in any way. Friday, June 13, 2008
Drawing The Lost To Jesus
DRAWING THE LOST TO JESUS
Sunday, Jaime, visited our church (just to see what it was like). He’s my muslim friend in Chaula market who has a heart to know Jesus. He didn’t come inside the church, but sat outside listening intently and enjoying himself. He could only stay for about 30 minutes though, and then I took him back to the market on my motorbike. When I dropped him off, all of his friends cheered and clapped their hands. They knew what he had gone to do. Please join me in believing and praying that they all would receive Jesus and become lights and mighty torches to carry the fire of God to other people. (Also, I thank the Lord because the very next day, the motorbike chain came off while I was riding my motorbike. If that happened Sunday I wouldn’t have been able to take Jaime to church).
While returning back to the church, I met several little boys. I was surprised that they readily accepted my offer to join me at church. They had to sit on the front row because those where the only seats available. They sat down and watched everyone else worshipping. But, later in the service they gave their lives to Jesus. It was amazing to see the immediate change in their lives. They started singing and dancing unto the Lord, and their faces lit up at the name of “Isa” (“Jesus” in the local Yao language). Hallelujah!! The Lord is glorious and does marvelous things, all the time!
BUILDING A HOUSE FOR THE PLEASURE OF THE LORD
This week, I had to spend a lot of time purchasing supplies, overseeing the work being done on our house, and putting the steel security bars through the wood window frames. All the walls are up to door height. By today, all of the 17 windows will be installed including the 4 huge windows in the “room of lights”. The workers of our house and the other workers at the center have been having wonderful times in the presence of the Lord at lunch time worship and prayer. We’ve had a few issues with one of the workers wanting to work more and frequently skip this time. But the Holy Spirit turned his heart toward Himself, and the issue has been resolved in the individual with joy and a willing heart to seek the Lord first. All of the workers are saved and have a desire to grow in the Lord. They know that their relationship with the Lord is more important than building us a house, and that the owner of the house will gladly put aside the work being done on the house to give Jesus every opportunity to do the real work of building up their lives as dwelling places for His Holy Spirit. We are building for the pleasure of the Lord.
Join us in prayer:
- The workers will keep Jesus first in their hearts and the focus of all that they do.
- Jamie and his friends will surrender their lives to Jesus. The Lord opens more doors in Chaula market.
- We continue to stay in the position to experience the increasing presence of the Lord here in Lichinga.
Love,Tyren
