Update On Ministry Projects

At times people have inquired about how they can help, and also have encouraged us to let people know how they can be a blessing. In the beginning of the year, we sent a blog with a list of the main projects and other ministry opportunities to let people know the primary areas they can support us in. We are resending an updated list, which includes the praise report for the things the Lord allowed us to accomplish thus far.

The Lord has a lot of work for us to do in the city of Lichinga and its surrounding villages, and we believe we’ll be here for several years until the Lord says our work is done. Projects that we mentioned are the result of prayer, and are things that are specific to enable us to live here and be effective in fulfilling God’s call on our lives to pursue the harvest, and prepare and release harvesters here in Lichinga.

HOUSE FOR GOD’S PLEASURE
Some people thought it was impossible, but the Lord built our house in 4 months and we moved into it in September. We’re going to complete the remaining inside work (painting, inside doors, kitchen table, etc.) when we return from the U.S.

TRUCK FOR MINISTRY
We are praying for a twin cab 4x4 truck. Due to the rainy season, mud, and the poor condition of the dirt roads where we live, a 4x4 truck with room to carry several passengers inside is necessary. We need a truck to evangelize in the city and villages. It’s especially necessary as we’ve been desiring the freedom to go places and minister as a family. Quality used/new trucks (mainly Toyota/Nissan/Ford) can be purchased in Mozambique.

BORE-HOLE (Well)
This past year, the cheapest machine drilled wells (bore holes) were about $6000 U.S. which includes a manual hand pump. In Lichinga (which is in the mountains), the machine drilled wells must be about 40-50 meters to give clean water that’s available year round even in the dry season (when it doesn’t rain for about 4-6 months). Our current water supply, a hand dug well, frequently runs out and is dirty. We’d like a bore-hole for our house and gardening. Everyone at the center agrees that the only option is to have more than one bore-hole especially since our center will have to have enough water to support 24 orphans, flower and vegetable gardens, etc.

DREAMER’S VISION PROJECTS
(We can explain how the Lord gave us this name and song at some other time). As a part of preaching to the lost and drawing people back to their first-love, we encourage the people of God to enter into their God-given destinies. We spiritually prepare the way, and when possible practically equip believers to help them be to be released into the call of God for their lives. Some good examples of this are the bicycles that a few of you supplied to Gazani and Foster (local missionaries who are very active in evangelism), and the Bibles we continue to purchase in the local language for believers that are eager to learn about the Lord, micro-enterprise projects and other small projects.

Please continue to pray for us and the great work that the Lord has set before us. We thank God for all of your continued support and willingness to see His glory and kingdom transform lives in Lichinga, Mozambique. We are looking forward to coming to the U.S. next month; The Lord is faithful, and will always provide the way.
