We know that
it’s much more precious to choose a life of abiding in the Lord and living in
His presence than it is to just seek to accomplish the works of ministry-such
as signs, healings, and even salvations.
As we abide and rely on the Father’s working, we are seeing the Holy
Spirit perform things in the hearts of people that bring them freedom and a deeper
brokenness to truly grow in relationship with the Lord and in the kingdom of
God.
Prison Ministry: Right in the middle of worship during prison
ministry, I was filled with holy anger as I watched one of the prisoners in the
courtyard, who’s not part of our group, smoking. The holy anger came because this man was in
bondage and being oppressed. The Holy
Spirit was not pleased. So, I left the
group and ministered to this man whom I didn’t know. In the meantime, the group leader was trying
to get my attention because they had finished their worship time. I was thinking about leaving when I felt the
Holy Spirit telling me to wait. So, I continued
ministering to the man in love. The man
agreed to receive prayer to be free from this addictive power. I didn’t know if he claimed to be Christian
or Muslim. It wasn’t important. As I prayed, a joy came over the man as the
Holy Spirit set him free. Then, I went
back to the group and continued ministering, teaching on the importance of moving
with the Holy Spirit in what He is doing.
Watchmen (who watch
the Lord, Psalm 127:1): The Lord
seems really intent on making lovers (for Jesus) out of our center’s watchmen
(guards). Apart from practical
guarding and other activities, prayer and ministry is important so that the
focus remains on Christ and nothing else.
The presence of the Lord is upon us right at the beginning of (or even before) the short prayer times we have together. One day as we were surrendering our hearts before the Lord, one of the
guards experienced the fire of God through his body. On a different day, another guard was filled with joy. As their hearts are being
touched, they are learning the value of serving whole-heartedly as unto the
Lord (Colossians 3:23-24). It’s a
privilege to see how the Lord is preparing their hearts for His presence, and
bringing these Christian watchmen to a greater place of surrender, love for God,
and love for one another.
Discipleship – Touched by the Presence: We are also seeing the move of the Holy Spirit in the life of one of the people that Tyren is discipling. Many times as Tiffany is worshiping with the children in the house in the morning (in English), our day worker Mr. White, who doesn’t speak English, is outside being so touched by the presence of God that he told us he finds it difficult to do anything. He stops what he’s doing and worships in his own language.
Pray that the Lord awakens our guards, missionaries, and
others to a deep hunger for His presence, and for abiding in Him. Pray that we learn to surrender more to what
the Lord is doing, so that people we minister to would experience God’s love
and transformation. So much is happening through your love, support and prayers. Thank you for being a blessing to our ministry!!

God’s love, Tyren and Tiffany
