In 2010, I met a group of Iris pastors who live in a refugee camp in Tanzania. Since then, they have been asking me to come. This year,
we’ll be hosting the conference among Iris Pastors and many others who have
escaped horrendous conditions in war stricken Congo, and now live facing many
challenges and sufferings as
refugees. The conference will be open to
all who live in the camp. We also plan
to reserve time for Pastor Deus and myself to spend time with and minister to the
Iris churches that are within the camp.
We are expecting more than manifestations of
healings, signs and salvations. We are
too attracted to Jesus to simply believe for these things. We believe this conference must be different.
We long for a holy fire that will break into the depths of the human heart
leaving people abandoned to the extreme
and unadulterated love of God; a fire that will make the sermon on the mount a desirable
lifestyle even for refugees; a fire that will fill people with the riches of
God so that Christ’s love will flow out of them to their fellow neighbors. We long for His presence, are desperate for
His love, and will rely on His passion for this people (and ourselves) to see
true love break through in a refugee camp.
The Iris churches in the camp are
thoroughly excited and are already praying for this conference. (Pastor Deus visited the camp in March to start
preparing things legally and also personally met with Iris pastors about the
conference).

As in previous years, we'll need to provide all travel, lodging and food costs for myself, Tyren, and Iris Tanzania Director, Pastor Deus, and all costs involved in holding the conference. We hope to be able to provide simple gifts for the Iris churches and, if possible, offer some kind of food assistance as well.
PRAY
- for the (spiritual) fire storm of God’s presence that
will shake, reshape and restore hearts to the Lord Himself
- for an outbreak of love for God and sincere love for
others that will continue well after the conference is over
- that God will allow us to practically demonstrate His love to hungry and hurting people
- for continued favor in the final preparation and approval of all documents
- that things will run smoothly in God’s order: pray for favor, grace, mercy, thanksgiving
- that Tyren will stand strong in faith and love to believe God
for all that He wants to do
