Compassion in Malawi

The Lord showed us much favor on this trip to Malawi.  He opened doors to minister, pray and prophesy to people wherever we went, including policemen, people on the street, and people in stores.  It was a time to learn to love people, normal people, who face every day needs and challenges, who need to be loved and shown patience to allow the Lord Himself to minister to their hearts in a special way.

I taught a Malawian missionary about surrender and loving Christ.  He then insisted on walking me to the store and back.  It turned out to be a blessing because he translated from English to Chichewa for me.  We met a man named Charles, who was in a wheelchair.  During our time with him, the Holy Spirit told me that Charles had a lot of love.  And Charles agreed saying that he always helps his friends who also beg for money on the street.  The Holy Spirit led me to ask him about food he hasn’t eaten in a long time.  Charles responded, “Rice” because it’s so expensive.  So, I went to buy rice, not just for him, but enough to share with his friends as well.  Afterwards, I understood why the Holy Spirit shared those specific things with me.  It wasn’t just a time to love on Charles, prophecy over his life, and give him food.  The Holy Spirit had us meet this man where he was at.  Charles couldn’t walk using his legs, but that wasn’t preventing him from "walking" with his heart.  Through a bag of rice he was given an opportunity to receive a greater blessing.  You see, Charles could eat the rice himself and thank God for that blessing.  Or, he could choose to act upon the compassion the Holy Spirit put on his heart and be a blessing to others rather than just being blessed himself.  We don’t know all that the Lord has in store for Charles, but we do know that the Lord will open greater doors for him if he took advantage of this opportunity.  There’s nothing stopping Charles or us from fulfilling the second greatest commandment. God used us to help this man do something great:  love your neighbor as yourself (Mark 12:31).

Looking at our waiter while eating in a restaurant, it was revealed to me through the Holy Spirit that he wasn’t going to church (although he professed Christ).   He told me that he wanted to go to church but didn’t know how because he had to work on Sundays and other days that prevented him from attending church meetings.  After ministering and praying for  him, he said he would sincerely seek the Lord and ask Him to open doors for him.

As you remember to pray for God’s presence and fire to continue to grow in our ministry, please keep our center in prayer.  Several people have been sick, others have tested positive for malaria and have been dangeriously ill.  Chayah was also sick and was miraculously healed!  Now, just about everyone is doing better.  There have been car problems (even to the point where an engine head cracked).  Since we returned from Malawi on Friday, two of our solar inverters blew out for no obvious reason.  But, everyone at our center remains steadfast in going lower still.  We continue to praise God for He is good.  Our faith has risen as we are choosing first love (Revelations 2:4) despite continuing challenges since the beginning of this year.  We love God more!!! Hallellujah!
