Seeing New Things In Christ's Humility

We are always surprised by the wonderful things the Lord is doing through our lives and in Lichinga. Often, we are in holy awe that, after nearly 17 years of waiting, we are actually in full-time missions. For the past few weeks, the Lord has been humbling us and drawing us to our faces. The blessing of His presence is being poured out in our midst. Ministry is becoming “lighter” because we are allowing Him to reveal more of His glory through us (John 15: 1-8). The effects of His love, breaking our hearts to receive more of His heart, is being seen as we minister in more love to others and in greater submission to the Holy Spirit. We know the Lord wants the hearts of the people of Mozambique, but we are also so happy, that He is also capturing more of our hearts in the process.

Healing
White, a former muslim, have his life to Jesus last year before we came to the U.S. A few weeks ago, one of his children was sick and crying, and according to him, the child was waking up during the nights crying. We prayed together at my house, and that was the first night the child was able to sleep. The next time I saw White told me that the Lord healed him. This past Sunday, one of his wives was sick with what he said was malaria. Her whole body and head were aching. The Holy Spirit gave him specific instructions to put his right hand on his wife and pray for her. I saw the glory that the Lord put in His hand for healing. That very day, all the pain in her body (below her head) left her body. Her head still hurt a little. Monday, when White came to my house we prayed for her again. I’m so excited at how the Lord Jesus is making himself known to this former muslim and his family. We are praying that as the Lord changes his life, the Lord will also resolve the issue concerning two wives.

Hospital Ministry
Hospital ministry is so exciting. I’ve gone with Victor the past two weeks. Whenever we are there, I’m filled with so much joy. So far we’ve been in the children’s ward. Here, mostly mothers, stay with the children every day all day, nursing the little ones and caring for them. Their husbands or other family members bring them food (this is not supplied by the hospital). A couple of parents have received Jesus, and some others rejected. Many people allow us to pray either for them or their children. Most of the patients stay here for only a few days, so by the time we visit on the next Monday, we aren’t able to hear any testimonies about the goodness of God. Victor speaks both Yao and Portuguese, so he is able to minister to a lot of people in the rooms at the same time.

Our House
We are in the process of having the city officially examine and approve the structure for our house. If everything passes, we won’t have to buy another year’s license. Last week, we put the kitchen sink in! It’s only on a wood frame without doors or shelves, but it’s there. It’s so nice not to have to fill and refill basins, and dump dirty water outside. Everything drains out into the septic tank outside. Oh! Last week 7 of us (and a cat that didn’t do anything) chased a rat around our house. We finally trapped the rat in the bathroom and “took care of it” with broom sticks.
Please continue to pray with us and for us. May the Lord use you in prayer to win souls to Christ, and cause hearts to turn in desperation toward Him.

Much Love,
Tyren and Tiffany Haynes
