Happy New Year! The
Lord has been doing much during this first month of the year. If you haven't seen our Newsletter, entitled "Celebration of Love", please click here to view it.
Let us give you an update of some things that have been going on:
Let us give you an update of some things that have been going on:
DEC 2014 Amerel
went through Assumane to hand out shoes and clothing as part of the "Shoe
project''. She enjoyed “walking as Jesus
walked”, experiencing His presence while giving, helping the kids and adults,
and seeing the smiles on people’s faces as they tried on their shoes.
DEC 2014 Since
our kids were on school break, Tiffany and I had time to do activities with the
kids from the girls' house at our center. We
made cookies, caramel corn, and tie-dyed banners.
JAN 2015 Due
to heavy rains, flooding has destroyed and blocked major roads coming/going
into our area, Lichinga is running on a generator to produce limited power
(many areas of the city are without power), many people cannot mill maize
(their main staple food), and phone networks aren’t working well. Please
pray that the believers will be humble and be filled with His wisdom to be a
light on the hill to those around us. In
the midst of natural disasters that impact thousands of people, we know
the Lord is working for the good. Romans 8:28, Isaiah 60:1-2.

JAN 2015 Testimonies
·
In December, the Lord resurrected a little bird and
told me it was a sign of Him restoring dreams, ideas, plans, etc. that have
been lost, forgotten, and put to the side. This month, we received a married couple visiting our center from Brazil. The wife is 77 years old and the husband is turning 80
next month. The Lord gave them a dream
where they saw Mozambique and received love for the people here who they never
met. They finally were able to come to
Mozambique this month, fulfilling a dream they had 35 years ago! They came preaching and ready to serve the Lord. Our God is awesome!
· One of the disciples in Assumane prayed for a child who
couldn’t speak, and the child began to say, “Daddy.”
·
Amerel had a sore throat. She prayed, and the Lord took it away.
· We baptized Chayah Grace on Jan 15. She said, “Jesus told me it was time for me
to be baptized.” So, she stopped being
afraid to go under the water, and also made sure we didn’t delay in
baptizing her!
· We’ve been praying and believing God for
greater kingdom impact in the everyday life of the city. Since then, two cars have hit my
motorbike. One man did it intentionally
while I was holding my motorbike. My motorbike is
fine, and so am I. This is so
encouraging! God is moving and the atmosphere is being impacted. (No, I don’t like people hitting my
motorbike. But, it does give me opportunities
to make sure my heart is right with God and full of love for the people He
wants me to touch with the gospel. And, yes, we prayed for no more accidents!)
In love with Jesus,
