How great is His goodness, and He does great things past finding out.

We Call It a Miracle - Arriving Without Enough Fuel
Last week, we went on our second trip to a neighboring country to pick up our kid’s renewed passports. We were given inaccurate directions, got lost and drove 62 miles (over 100 km) going in different directions. Somehow, 6 hours later we arrived in the capital and picked up our passports just before the Consulars left for lunch. But, the one container of spare fuel we carried was not enough to travel the 4 ½ hour trip back to the town we were staying in. This country has a shortage of diesel. In fact, in well over 400 miles, we only came across one gas station that had diesel. At that station, the line of cars extended somewhere down the road. We were told that some people wait for hours in a line only to find out that the gas station ran out of diesel. Some people literally leave their cars lined up for days at a station just because they hear fuel might be coming. We had no time to wait, especially since we wanted to get back before dark to make sure we didn’t get lost again. With less than ½ of a tank, we knew we didn’t have enough diesel for our return trip (especially looking at how much our car uses). So, we prayed and drove, prayed and drove, then with increased faith, we left all in the hands of God, and just kept driving. 4 ½ hours later, at night, we drove up to the SIM guest house where we were staying, with the needle below E. We made it, praising God for the miracle He worked in getting us back without enough fuel. We had one more spare container of fuel which we had to use just to return to Mozambique. We filled up at a gas station a few minutes after crossing the border into Mozambique.
2 weeks ago during our Tuesday’s group ministry time, the Holy Spirit simply said, “sex”. I asked the prison group comprised of men to raise their hands if they had a problem with lust in this area. Finally, one of the new leaders raised his hand (the prisoners choose the leaders). Suddenly, many other hands went up. Other prisoners sitting in the courtyard behind me were listening. Many of them ended up raising their hands, also. In a moment, the Holy Spirit swept over their hearts and set people free. Unlike anything I’ve witnessed in the prison before, the men began to applaud the Lord joyfully and continuously. Afterwards, I taught briefly on how to stay free. During this week’s discipleship meeting within the prison, that same leader shared his testimony of how the Lord had delivered him that day. We wait for many more testimonies. Hallelujah!
Gifts of Goodness
To add to gifts and monetary donations we’ve received to replace some of our stuff that was stolen from our house in January, we recently received another box full of replacement goodies. We have been so moved by the Lord’s goodness and generosity through many of you! We have even received better things than what we previously had! We praise the Lord for His mercy and great goodness being demonstrated through you all. Thank you!
Because our God’s goodness is great (ref. Psalm 31:19) and His marvelous ways are past finding out (ref. Job 9:10), we can trust God to do good things in the midst of our daily situations. Because his goodness endures forever, let us begin to cast away pride, doubt and fear; and bowing our knees and our hearts, begin to cry out for the greater works of God that He so eagerly wants to reveal among each one of us. Are you ready? Are you available?
Love, Tyren and Tiffany Haynes
