A Year To Know God More Intimately
Coming into the New Year, the Lord has already been doing new things. Newness and fulfilled promises are two of the things the Lord has been putting on our hearts for 2012. But, more excitingly, we believe God wants to reveal more of Himself to us that we might intimately know Him in 2012 like we’ve never known Him before. Since we know the Lord can speak through His works, and that His works can give testimony to things He wants to do in our lives, we are taking note of some new things the Lord is already doing at the start of this year.
Dreams
Many of you may be like my wife, whom God speaks to through vivid dreams. I hardly ever receive dreams like that. But, early one morning I had a dream about the prison. When I went to minister in the prison that day, the same things that had happened in my dream were happening before me. Things that usually don’t happen in the prison were happening just like they had in my dream. So, that morning in the prison, I shared the same scripture that I saw myself teaching the prisoners in the dream I had.
Then, there was a Muslim man I had seen in my dream. When I went to the prison and saw him, I pulled him aside and began to prophecy over his life concerning Jesus, the Son of God, calling him. He just shook his head in acknowledgement. The Lord had already been speaking to him and drawing his attention to the truth of Jesus Christ (just like the Lord had showed me in the dream).
Healing came in a different way
During ministry time at Assumane church, one little girl came up because of pain in her head. The Lord told me to walk around her 7 times. I lost count walking around her, so I walked around one more time just in case it hadn’t been 7 times. Then, I shouted because that’s what the Lord told me to do. The Lord healed the girl. Through a Yao translator I asked, “When did the pain go away?” The little girl responded, “When you shouted.” We encouraged her to stand in front of the other children and testify of her healing.
Through His works that the Lord is showing us, we are encouraged to seek Him and know Him more intimately - like never before. Join with us and pray that the Lord would continue to draw the hearts of people to Himself. Pray that our hearts would remain open to experience and know Him more and more in 2012 (Philippians 3:7-8). However the Lord wants to work in our lives and ministry is fine with us. For through His works, God is making Himself known and bringing glory to Himself through our ministry, the beautiful people of Mozambique, and beyond.
